German Historical Institute Moscow

The German Historical Institute Moscow (DHI Moskau) was founded in the year 2005 on the initiative of the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung and the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius. The DHI Moskau supports scholars, especially junior scholars from Russia and Germany in their historical research. Working with Russian and German scholars facilitate dialogue and collaboration across national boundaries and the enable scholars to conduct research and share their findings with their colleagues.
The main subjects of research of the DHI Moskau are the relationships in history of Russian/Soviet, German and Relationship History between Germany and Russia, the increase of the cooperation between Russian and German scholars, and the coordination and realization/ implementation of common research projects.

Service

 

The library of the DHI Moskau offers free access to reserachers, historians, scholars, and the general public. The increasing collection contains more than 55.000 resources and supplies access to more than 8000 e-books and subscribes round about 90 historical journals. More than 100 online databases (full-text as well as bibliographic) are available.

Fellowships and Prizes

 

Scholarship for doctoral and post-doctoral projects on German history; scholarships for junior researchers; scholarships for research projects; short scholarships for work in Russian archives; annual research scholarships for doctoral or post-doctoral projects; internships; prizes for outstanding diploma theses and candidate dissertations on German history or German-Russian relations.
